In South Australia Chairman Dr Henry Gilkes and State Coordinator Dianne Travers work together to provide guidance and support for our volunteers. We also aim to establish and maintain strong relationships with charities and dental industry representatives, through good communication. We believe our commitment to excellence, provides a sound base for future growth and development here in SA.
We are very excited about a current joint project with the School of Dentistry (University of Adelaide) Community Outreach Dental Clinic. In 2014 we were successful in obtaining a Wrigley’s Grant that has enabled us to acquire equipment and materials to establish a mobile clinic. This enables us to extend our support to those who have difficulty accessing dental care through more conventional methods.
South Australia is very proud of its student involvement in our program. We have a student representative on our Committee and report a very strong level of enthusiasm amongst students. They have volunteered at an inner city charity & also have visited charity based play groups, whilst representing National Dental Foundation.
In 2017, the NDF is striving to increase our volunteer base in order to provide more help to those who desperately need it. Working together as an industry, we can achieve great things.
